FROM OFFICE OF THE DESK OF PRESIDENT
We’re all here to blow off some steam and avoid any trouble or pain from the outside world, but from time to time those two worlds collide and there isn’t anything that can be done to prevent it. It is with a heavy heart that I write to inform you that this week we lost a predominant figure in our community. On January 8, 2020 DJ Jason Jensen passed away in Florida. He had been battling complications with HIV/AIDS and cancer. The following day, January 9th would have been his 50th birthday.
Those who knew Jason know that even when he was struggling with his health or other hardships life threw his way, he still pressed forward lifting us all up with his music and a smile on his face as he cut into the music with encouraging words reminding us to be nice to ourselves and to others.
Within this community, we got the honor of seeing Jason Jensen do what he loved and that was make music. In 2018, the members of this community recognized DJ Jason Jensen by voting to give him the title of DJ of the Year and handing him a much deserved Zoomie Award.
To keep his upbeat message going and to honor his legacy, Markie Mark has gathered songs and sets by DJ Jason Jensen so that any meeting interested can pay tribute to Jason through his music. Each of the four SlipperyWhenSex Presidential Productions will be dedicating a few hours to the memory of DJ Jason Jensen on Sunday and Monday. If anyone would like the links to Jason’s sets.
email markiemark@swirlonthru.com.
Sincerely,
The Swirlonthru.Com Staff and Crew ”
Thank you for remembering DJ Jason Jensen.
Last year we remember when he was in a group meeting – hosting directly from his hospital room!
Indeed, we will miss his encouraging words.
(Are you listening Markie Mark?). :-))
